James’s work is a reflection of an intensely aesthetic experience of the world and the ways in which people move through it. His clothes are often sculptural and show a strong understanding of the relationship between body and cloth. These are objects of beauty, created from the highest-quality fabrics to last a lifetime in your wardrobe.
After completing his studies in Wellington, James moved to Paris, and subsequently to Brussels and London, where he spent several years working as a designer and pattern maker, learning traditional forms of tailoring and dress making, and refining his natural understanding of balance and harmony.
In 2018, James completed his MA in menswear at the University of Westminster, London and gained a place on the British Fashion Council’s prestigious graduate programme. James launched his own fashion line – James Bush – in 2021.
