Ford’s Factory

Ford’s Factory (Joshua Taylor) is a multi disciplinary artist based in Tauranga holding a BDes(Hons) majoring in industrial design from Massey University Wellington. In 2019 he established Ford’s Factory, a creative platform presenting collections of mostly ceramic works. Multiple residencies at the late Barry Brickell’s Driving Creek pottery, has seen Taylor develop his ceramic work amongst other New Zealand artists and potters. His interest lies with functional objects; lamps, clocks, bowls and teapots. His approach to making is physical and instinctive. The outcomes are worn out remnants that tell warped stories of their distant lives.
