Christine Brimer

Christine Brimer is a designer and weaver who combines science, art, and sustainability in her work. Christine’s design journey began with a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Plant Physiology from Canterbury University, followed by a Bachelor of Design (BDes Hons) in Textile Design from Massey University’s College of Creative Arts. Her studies shaped a unique approach to design, blending a scientific understanding of materials with a creative passion for weaving.

"I weave in my studio overlooking Huetepara (Lyall Bay), in partnership with undyed natural fibres. Our relationship with colour is intrinsically linked with our regard for water. This collection invites you to dress your table with natural fibres featuring moments of botanically sourced colour."

Her weaving process is experimental and innovative, blending traditional and modern techniques. Christine’s textiles reflect her dedication to craftsmanship and environmental responsibility. Each piece invites a connection to nature, showcasing her skill and commitment to sustainable art.
